The Story of a Family

In my piece I explore the differences and commonalities that make a family. The hands and books represent an individual’s ability to hold his or her own story in a family, and they also illustrate the idea that a family is built on the love that binds them together and not the blood that runs through their veins. Every member of my family comes from a different place, some are adopted, others guardianship, and some are the biological offspring. Although we don't all share the same view of family there is no denying that we are one.
