As a Visual and Public Arts major at CSUMB I have learned that artists can have a big impact on a community when given the chance to do so.  Artists are heard through their work.   The work of an artist speaks to the senses.   As a public artist it is my goal to have a positive impact on those viewing my work.   Visual Art can be dangerous if used the wrong way, just like any other art.  For example, some music has a positive influence and some has a bad influence.   With my art I want to have a good influence on those viewing it.   I choose to be positive influence.  There is enough bad influence already in the world today.

The piece I have been working on is entitled ‘Exodus.’  Exodus: a mass departure.  This piece is about a mass departure that took place a long time ago in Africa.  Millions of slaves were brought out of captivity by the awesome works of God.  He displayed his authority over the powers of nature.  He displayed his authority over all false claims and set His people free.  After they were taken out of the land of Egypt God led them to His Mountain and poured out on them His blessing of instruction.   A nation grew from that day and it is a Nation that can’t be done away with even though many have tried and many still try today.  We cannot be done away with because our root is strong and it comes from the Almighty.  So how could something get rid of the root that gives it life?  Can’t do it.

For me art is about passion.   I can’t do something I’m not passionate about.   That’s just me.  I like to create art based on things I have a passion for.  Over the past few years I have developed a passion for the teachings (guidance) that is found in the Bible.  This passion includes nature, my family, my culture, my environment, and most of all my God.  My God is Salvation -in Hebrew this means ‘Yeshua’.   I see myself as an artist continuing to create work that speaks about Salvation and Redemption.  Psalm 27:1-2
