Art students display senior projects at CSUMB

Works by graduating seniors in the Department of Visual and Public Art at California State University, Monterey Bay will be on display the week of May 17-23.

In order to graduate, each student must complete a “Capstone” or culminating project that reflects the knowledge, skills and abilities developed during the course of a student’s time at the university. Capstones allow students to follow original ideas from conception through completion.

The exhibit will open to the public on Monday, May 17 and will remain open through Sunday, May 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The works will be displayed in Buildings 71 and 72 (on Third Street at Sixth Avenue); one will be exhibited in the Black Box Cabaret on campus.

“Cycles of Vision” is the title of the exhibit, which will showcase the works of 20 students. Paintings, sculpture, installations and murals are among the projects on display.
